How My Love of Travel Began
As I sit back and reminisce about when I fell in love with travel, the love came later in my life. At the time, I was 45 years old and I was invited on a birthday trip to Virginia Beach. The accommodations were at an AirBnB on the beach. I can remember it like yesterday, our stay was in a townhouse on the second floor with a view of the beach. We each had our own bedroom, which is always a plus. We made a trip to the local grocery store for provisions for the trip. This way we could spend our money on experiences instead of eating out.
Let me tell you, when I stepped out on the beach, just the sheer beauty just drew me in and I knew there were more views like this to see. The weather was beautiful, the waves were hitting and the sound of the water rushing to the shore just made me feel good. I walked the beach, I wrote my name in the sand, and I stood there in awe of the beauty before me.
After that trip, I knew I wanted to travel more and see places I’ve read about in books and seen on television. Everyday I hear about a great place to travel and adventures to pursue during my trip. After the trip, I became a travel agent, which aids in my ability to afford the life of travel.
Let’s just say, I was bitten by the travel bug and I’ve been traveling ever since.
